Fort McMurray Chess Club organizes  Youth Chess Camps every year. During the Camps the kids receive great chess training  by one of the best coaches in Alberta while they are having fun.

Upcoming FMCC Chess Camps

April 14 - 16, 2023 Spring Break 3 days Chess Camp 

Welcome to the chess fun! We are very excited to host another epic chess camp which is a combination of educational study of chess and fun activities such as Ninja warrior and more !


Students will learn various chess skills such as strategies, tactics, and new openings etc. 

Students will be in 2 separate groups based on their experience, ages and level to learn.

During the camp, campers will also enjoy 1.5 hours of Ninja Warrior and other outdoor indoor fun activities.

We accept absolute beginners who would like to learn how to play chess in a fun setting led by experienced coaches.

Spots are limited! Please register as soon as possible!

Dates :

Check-in 9:00 am - 9:30 am

Checkout 3:30-4:00pm (Please be on time - our venue will close at 4:30 pm.) 

Day 1: Chess Lessons & Ninja Warriors

Day 2: Chess Lessons & Fun games

Day 3: Chess Lessons & Friendly Tournament

Camp fees :

$200 (FMCC members of 2022-2023 season will get discount fees of $100)

*Please sign the Total Fit Ninja Warrior program waiver within 48 hours of your registration.*

*This waiver is mandatory for all chess camp participants.

All participants will be required to attend the Ninja Warrior program. 

Total Fit Ninja Warrior dojo is located at 190 Tamarack Way and is a 2 minute walk from the Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club/Doug Barnes Cabin.

Please bring the following to camp .


  • Lunch: Please bring your own lunch for Friday and Saturday. We will have pizza on April 16 ( Sunday) .

  • Water bottle ( label it please )

  • Enough morning and afternoon snacks.

  • Clean and dry indoor shoes. 

  • Wear or bring comfortable gym clothes on Friday for Taekwando.  Please do not wear jeans.
